Comparaison de méthodes d'évaluation macroscopique de la robustesse des horaires ferroviaires

Abstract : Within the context of RFF's current projects aiming at coordinated, clock-faced timetables and optimization of network maintenance, upstream investigation of quality of the new timetables and impact of maintenance policies on it turn to be decisive. Macroscopic tools exist to assess robustness of timetables and afford an efficient answer to this issue. This research provides a critical comparison of three of them named FASTA, MakSi and UIC method, with a yiew to advise RFF on the relevance of each tool in relation to its own objectives. Thanks to a detailed multi-criteria analysis, it appears FASTA is certainly the tool that meets RFF's current preoccupations best, whereas MakSi will prove to be more relevant when regular interval timetabling and network regeneration are stabilized. However, the algorithmic limitations of FASTA have been highlighted over the course of thesis in order to direct its future developments; some recommendations advice has also been given to improve MakSi.
