Image de la sage-femme chez la nullipare

Abstract : We have carried out a study from questionnaires completed by primigestes nullipares with the aim to assess the representation of midwife profession. Our thought has hinged on the following issues: the development of the scope of knowledge specific to the care of eutocy, based on medical knowledge, and the enhanced value of human sciences would not work to the advantage of the job? Our first assumption was based on a paradox disclosing the fact that midwives were unrecognized and had the benefit of compassion in the same time. Then, we ventured the assumption that the increased female participation in this profession was covering up the required skills. Then, we have assumed that midwives had an unsufficient autonomy to reveal their skills. Each of our assumptions has been confirmed. The perception from patients of this profession increases in value the human dimension of the care of pregnancy's follow up.
