DMLA) est une pathologie dont l'incidence dans les populations des pays industrialisés ne cesse d'augmenter. Elle représente la première cause de baisse sévère de l'acuité visuelle et de cécité dans les pays développés chez les personnes de plus de 55 ans. L'impact du stress oxydatif et son implication dans la pathogénie de la DMLA est fortement argumenté, Il est important de pouvoir améliorer le statut en antioxydant des patients, c'est pourquoi les compléments alimentaires visant le vieillissement oculaire sont souvent prescrits par les ophtalmologistes ,
acteur et partenaire de santé, a un rôle de premier plan à jouer à la fois sur le dépistage, dans l'éducation des patients et dans le conseil nutritionnel. Les compléments alimentaires peuvent améliorer le statut en antioxydants des patients atteints de DMLA, lorsque l'apport alimentaire est insuffisant ce qui peut être le cas chez les sujets âgés ,
