Abstract : Come from close campaigns, pushed seem he, by crisises. Parents of the employees of factories came installed to Saint Privat. These crisises touch a full world, living in precarious balance finishing to shaking the bases of the rural ardechoise economy. Two solutions were then outlined, the exodus, and the incomes research. And Ardeche during the XIXth century, at the factory of Lyon instigation knew a development of the industry of the silk, greedy in workforce, and the individuals were able to find a source of incomes there. Therefore the migration is not obliged or undergone. It is an element of fightin front of crisises organized within the family. Finally, these often considered and described performers as exploited used seems you he it of the moulinage almost just as much as moulinage used them. Appeal to the work manufacturing process allowing the increase of the main incomes, without as far as the rural link of these workers is compromised. They live so temporarily in an intervening period, temporarily indeed, because the passage in factory is only a bracket to which marriage comes most of the time to put an end. It is however for the majority of the workers no radical change in the lifestyle, we notice moreover a strong endogamy. Many of them leaving father farm or workshop for that of her husband. After the led study, it is also difficult not to see how the collective memory is wrong as regards the workers who worked in moulinages, this one reflecting only parts of the reality. Only big milked still feed collective memory and contributes to spread the often exclusive image of the young farmer which worked in silk tailings coming by far to work, sleeping to the factory and coming back only on Sundays.
