Les statistiques publiées par le ministère des sports en 2010 annoncent que 87% femmes pratiquent une activité physique mais seulement 40% pratique plus d'une fois par semaine.(39) La répartition des femmes de cet échantillon, en fonction du volume global d'APS durant l'année précédant la grossesse étudiée, 2008.

. Dans, 6% des femmes ont déclaré avoir pratiqué une APS régulière durant au moins un trimestre de leur grossesse et 31,6% avoir pratiqué selon les recommandations de l'ACOG. Ces proportions sont retrouvées dans de grandes études étrangères

Ce résultat est retrouvé dans d'autres grandes études, une étude canadienne de 2008 (32) mais aussi une petite étude espagnole de 2003, 2004.
