L'évaluation des compétences des élèves par les enseignants de l'école élémentaire

Abstract : The establishment of a common core of knowledge and skills that students should master at the end of their compulsory education since 2006 involves changes in evaluative habits of teachers. The assessment thought in terms of skills requires rethinking the very concept of summative assessments to distance themselves a applicationist logic. Therefore, only complex and unusual tasks permit to verify mastery of a given skill by students. Furthermore, the degree of mastery of a skill is now transcribed in official documents, using a code of three or four scales and staff skills booklet replaced the traditional report card. This study aims to identify the challenges that teachers are likely to be faced in the implementation of the assessment of students' skills. Quantitative and qualitative data collected through questionnaires in a population of 43 elementary school teachers have highlighted the difficulties teachers to define and identify the skills in the many official texts. But this study has revealed especially the fact that the majority of teachers believe that a given task in summative assessment can not take a new character.
