Lien entre les para-fonctions et les capacités praxiques, articulatoires et de reconnaissance d'affects chez les grandes sections

Abstract : The use of dummy is very controversial. Recent inquiries revealed that children using a dummy present significantly less facial mimicry in response to other's emotions. The same studies also demonstrated that sucking habit during three or more years increase threefold the risk of developing an articulation disorder. Having said that, the goal of this study is to determinate whether or not a link is existing between the total duration of sucking behavior since birth, the presence of articulation disorder, the recognition of facial emotions and the reproduction of facial praxis on children during the last year of nursery school. Results show that a correlation is existing between the total duration of sucking behavior and the abilities of facial praxis reproduction and emotion's recognition. In addition, these abilities are apparently related to the type of sucking behavior itself. However, no connection has emerged between total duration of sucking behavior and the presence of an articulation disorder.
