Évaluation du retentissement d'une analgésie péridurale déambulatoire sur le travail obstétrical : étude prospective randomisée sur 280 patientes

Abstract : Objectives : Ambulation during labor is more and more successfull, although its impact on the progress of labor and on pain intensity wasn t demonstrated yet. We wondered whether ambulation with epidural analgesia had a possible effect on the labor and delivery. Materials and methods : We conduced a randomized forward-looking monocentric study in a french maternity (level III). Were included 280 patients from December 1st, 2012 till July 15th, 2013, but 560 patients will be included by the end of the study, on December 1st, 2014. The informations were collected thanks to obstretric files and forms in labor room. Results : 133 patients were included in the group A (witness) and 132 patients were included in the group B (ambulation). The duration of the labor, as well as the oxytocin consumption are not significantly different in both groups neither was mode of delivery. No neonatal adverse effect was found. The patients walked about 22 minutes. Conclusion : The ambulation under epidural analgesia during labor does not change the obstetric parameters nor the oxytocin consumption. Maternal satisfaction is excellent. No neonatal or maternal adverse effect was found in our study.
