Mise en place expérimentale d'une intensification écologique de la pisciculture d'étang

Abstract : Within the framework of the PISCEnLIT project, two scenarios of ecological intensification in pond fish farming were tested. The first deals with the identification of the role of the compartment of macrophytes in the effluents treatment of an intensive carp farming. The second tries to produce bigger fingerlings of pikeperch than usual thanks to a maximization of the using of trophic resources: forage fishes' genitors, regularly introduced, produce young preys by reproducing for the predators. Therefore, there mustn't lack food during all the summer. Some intermediate results were obtained, with the physic, chemical and zoothecnical monitoring, but we couldn't conclude about the system efficiency. However, based on problems and limits we met along the first part of the study, we were able to suggest improved systems. Regarding the treatment of effluents, the size and the form of the wetland can be changed and maybe also the macrophytes species, which can provide an additional income if they are sold. For the production of pikeperch, we can raise the number of predator fishes if we modify the fertilization and the number of forage fishes. All these improvements should allow proposing ways of an ecological intensification for the French fish farming in ponds.
