État des lieux de la prise en charge de l'hépatite C chronique chez les patients migrants en situation de précarité au centre hospitalier de Chambéry

Abstract : Introduction : Managing and caring chronic hepatitis C among immigrants experiencing social instability is quite problematic. The PASS (accessible healthcare committee room) of the hospital of Chambéry met many such immigrants. This study had for objective characterizing the management of such patients and comparing the results with the literature for general population. Materials and methods: This was a retrospective descriptive study. Included patients were immigrants with social instability, hepatitis C, that needed one consultation at the PASS between 01/01/2006 and 31/12/2013. The main judgement’s criterion was the obtention of a Sustained Virologic Response (SVR). Results: 52 files were included. In intention to treat, the proportion of SVR was 45% all genotypes included, 50% among genotypes 1, 20% among genotypes 2, 47% among genotypes 3. Contact with half of the group was lost during management time. Discussion: This study does not allow any conclusion because of too many limitations such as the small number of patients studied, records not clear enough, lot of patients that lost contact. It confirmed a precarious situation for the patients who can still be improved at the time of new treatment's arrival.
