L'évaluation du langage oral chez les enfants bilingues au moyen d'Exalang 5-8

Abstract : The aim of this study is to assess the reliability for bilingual children of a French battery, Exalang 5-8, originally standardized for French monolingual children. Different language areas of spoken language are examined in this battery: phonology, metaphonology, lexicon and morphosyntax. Our study compared the performance on this language battery of 21 bilingual children aged of 5 years 11 months to 7 years 11 months to the performance of 21 monolingual peers. Results show an effect of bilingualism, with bilinguals performing significantly more poorly than monolinguals, on two tasks only: the picture naming task and the narrative production task.
