Analyse de l’influence des ouvrages hydroélectriques et des facteurs biotiques et abiotiques sur les déplacements de la forme résidente de la truite commune aux stades précoces

Abstract : The 2006 law on water and aquatic environments imposes the restoration of the ecological continuity of French streams and rivers according to the River Classification System. EDF operates many hydroelectric dams on French streams, the majority being located in salmon regions, where the common trout dominates the fish population. Although fry downstream-migration is already well studied, trout movement at the juvenile stage remains relatively less known. The true survival between the stages 0 + and 1 + and the movement of juveniles are often two merged processes grouped together as “apparent survival”. This study mainly focuses on determining the excess survival between the stages 0 + and 1 +, which can bring more information about the trout movements at their early life stages. Our results show that great rates of survival are correlated with great distances from the source. Trout excess survival is lower on the stations located downstream to dams, except in case of dam overflow. The density of 0 + and the 0.10th quantile of temperature are the main factors influencing the observed excess survival, in all studied sites. Two predictive models including those variables as well as the section type and the distance from the source were developed in this study. Further experiments of marking/recapture would be necessary to support our conclusions and obtain more precise results.
