Quelle méthodologie d'étude d'impact environnemental pour les événements équestres ? Application aux Jeux Équestres Mondiaux FEI AlltechTM 2014 en Normandie

Abstract : The environmental impacts of equestrian events are still poorly evaluated and there is no specific method to measure them. Furthermore, the 2014 edition of the World Equestrian Games takes place in France, and it has been asked to finalize a methodology for assessing the environmental impact for this event. So a methodology suited to the equestrian events of any scale has been created. It takes the form of a list of quantitative and qualitative indicators. These indicators are grouped under headings : governance and partnerships, sensitization, consumption of water, electricity, fuel, food and bedding for horses, equipment, food, manure, waste, effluent, disturbances and natural environment and biodiversity. One of the goals of such methodology is to reduce the environmental impact of equestrian events. Thus, a first operational methodology adapted to equestrian events of all sizes is now available. To achieve the goal of reducing impacts, a list of environmental recommendations completes the methodology. Limits and ways to improve the methodology (sometimes deserving work with other specialties) are also developed.
