Variabilité climatique spatiale et temporelle de trois massifs des Alpes françaises : les Écrins, la Vanoise et le Vercors. Quelles caractéristiques à l’échelle des Alpages Sentinelles ?

Abstract : This study seeks to apply a method in order to characterize the climate variability of a sample of (mountain/alpine) pastures participating in the Alpages Sentinelles plan. The method involves characterizing the local climate characteristics, by incorporating the inter-annual variability as a discriminant feature. The analysis is done on the basis of climate series for the period 1993-2003 of the Météo France network. Other observations data from specific networks will also be used (Observatoire éco-climatique des Hauts Plateaux du Vercors and HISTALP data). There are two main objectives: to analyze the key parameters related to pastoral activities, and to characterize and compare climate variability across three alpine massifs: Ecrins, Vanoise and Vercors, by proposing a typology of local climates attached to these massifs. This typology leads to indicators related to the climate response to such extreme events.
