Analyse d’un glissement actif par suivi LiDAR et modélisation de la rupture : mine LAB Chrysotile à Black Lake (Québec)

Abstract : The slope failure in the east wall of the open pit LAB Chrysotile near the city of Black Lake (Chaudière-Appalaches, Canada) was analyzed with the limit equilibrium analysis (LEA), the finite element (FE) and the reduction shear Stress (SSR-FE). The modeling part is based on models of slopes extracted from digital elevation models (DEM) produced from point clouds of airborne (ALS) and terrestrial (TLS) LiDAR. The numerical analysis confirms that the slope failure is circular whose the volume is estimated to 22.106 m³. In addition, a back-analysis clarifies the rock’s geomechanical parameters. From these data, a preliminary prospective analysis predicts an instability of the area beyond the limits of the current slope failure, and the volume of this area is estimated at 107 m³.
