La scolarisation de l’enfant malade à l’école primaire : le cas des enfants séropositifs dans les années 1980-1990

Abstract : AIDS pandemic is declared at the beginning of the 1980s, also affecting children because of blood transfusion or maternal-fetal contamination. The educational institution has been forced to adapt it to this new audience. During 1980 and 1990 decades, while AIDS is still poorly known by masses, how the educational institution and its representatives act against the potential risk and against a certain moral panic? How the transition from acute to chronic disease illness, changed focused on students look HIV by the different actors of the educational institution? Can we considere the Circular No. 92-194 of 1992 turning point in the history of the reception of the HIV-positive child in school? With this thesis, I have tried to answer these questions by observing the reaction of the educational institution facing this particular chronic disease. The opening of the archives of CIDEF and scientific articles have highlighted fears, rejection reactions but also initiatives to allow these children to continue living a normal school.
