Homoparentalité(s) et développement de l’enfant

Abstract : For forty years, clinical research on families with same-sex parents have been oriented and influenced by activism and political issues. The first generation of studies tried to prove the innocuity of same-sex parenting by comparing it to the traditionnal "father-mother-child" family. These scientific works have multiple methodological biases. Since 2000, a second generation of studies freed from normative conceptions and more rigorous scientifically has been using a psychodynamic approach based on observation. These studies prove that same-sex parents are able to provide a safe environnement where children can thrive. Fears of a psychological vulnerability or social functionning are scientifically unfounded.
