Validation d'un référentiel de niveaux de compétence concernant le premier recours par des focus-groups d'internes du DES de Médecine Générale

Abstract : The concept of evaluation of skills has become central in modern medical training as well as in the evaluation of practice. The process of certification aimed at assuring the quality of residents training and reasserting the value of specialization in general practice. From now on, the missions of the family doctor are legally defined and professors have created tools to fulfill these missions. In particular, the "Collège National des Généralistes Enseignants" (CNGE) created a frame of reference for the expected skills depending on the residents level. In this thesis, we went to check the external validity of this reference frame concerning primary care specifically. Therefore, from March to October 2011, we performed two series of three focus-groups, each of them gathering 4 to 9 residents in general practice of the universities Paris V and Paris VII. Then, we compared the skills expected by the CNGE with those actually observed among the residents divided in three categories: novice, intermediary and competent. The analysis of these interviews revealed some good agreement between the expected and the observed skils, but also pointed out some differences.
