Étalonnage statique d’un capteur électromagnétique de position et choix d’une méthode de correction : application aux expérimentations relatives au son 3D

Abstract : Use of tracker is necessary in our 3D audio applications. Which type of tracker is the best? How calibrate it? How reduce measurement errors? First of all, a survey of various trackers and techniques used to calibrate position tracking systems is carried out. Error correction techniques are surveyed. The choice of electromagnetic tracker, calibration device specifications, correction methods are drawn up. The second part deals with the static calibration. A specific calibration system is designed, built and operated. Calibration results and uncertainties are assessed. Localisation tracker errors require corrections. In the last part, current correction software are modified, or developed, then processed. Results, comparisons and the statically choice of correction methods are made. Effectiveness indicator is evaluated for errors reduction. Two correction methods stand out: a 2nd order polynomial fit correction and the so-called “nearest” method. In conclusion, some prospects are given.
