Impact de l'exercice de l'art dentaire sur les yeux et les capacités visuelles du praticien

Abstract : The practice of dentistry requires great vision. During his career the dentist use his views very significantly. He works in particularly harsh conditions that require concentration at all times. To that extent we asked us about the impact of the practice of dentistry on practionner's visual capabilities. It is accepted that the dental office is a potentially dangerous place for the eyes. Indeed, projections of septic liquid and solid elements may be source of traumas or infections that can have dramatic consequences. The surgeon is also required to work with particularly virulent acids or caustics product. Protective eyewear is necessary for even a simple consultation. Contrary to popular belief and despite the lack of studies on the subject, it seems that the visual capabilities of dentists do not regress faster than those of the rest of the population. However, given the very nature of the profession, practitioners are likely to experience eyestrain symptoms.
