Étude rétrospective de la prescription d'antibiotiques dans le service d'odontologie de l'hôpital Saint-André

Abstract : It is well known that a badly adapted prescription of antibiotics can favor the emergence and the selection of resistant bacteria. Also it does not allow to flight bacteria implicated in the oral diseases. In the department of odontology of the hospital Saint André to Bordeaux, are prescribed by practitioners of various course or experience. Although there are at present recommendations, could these prescription be practitioner or speciality dependent, or do they follow these recommendations? To answer to these question, a retrospective study carried out, over one year, among adults consulting in our service. The result showed that the majority of the prescriptions are in accordance with the last recommendations of Afssaps of July 2011. The amoxicilline in monotherapy remains a reference antibiotic as much for antibioprophylaxie than for antibiotic treatment. On the other hand, the periapical abscess is as for our nearby countries the first reason of prescription of antibiotic even if the absence of general signs does not still justify it. The recommendations are to be followed because they are a synthesis of the new data of the science with for objective to direct the practitioner to a good practice and good medical references.
