The journey of Abdel, an eight-year-old little boy suffering from cerebral palsy, crossed paths with mine, final-year student in psychomotricity, and we strolled together all year round. This dissertation offers to retranscribe the shock produced by my meeting with the visible disability, then to recount my journey with Abdel. Through particular tools at the psychomotor therapist’s disposal, namely the non-verbal communication, the tonic dialogue, the empathy, the consideration of the other’s pace, the qualitative observations and the incessant re-assessment, it is about noticing that beyond the visible handicap is in reality a full-of-life child, hoping to play, have fun, grow up and bloom.
