La relaxation en psychiatrie adulte : quelles spécificités en psychomotricité ?

Abstract : Psychomotor therapist generally has a choice in the use of therapeutic mediations with the patient he meets. Relaxation is a wide spread mediation in adult psychiatric services, and is, as a matter of fact, utilized by multiple health care workers ( psychomotor therapists, psychologists, nurses,…). Sometimes, a patient can follow several relaxation therapies at the same time, with different caregivers. Is there different way to help the patient with relaxation, depending on the profession? Relaxation being an important course of the degree, it is interesting to see how psychomotricity took the ownership of this mediation in order to provide psychomotor care. The first chapter of this final assignment defines therapeutic relaxation, using the work of the French pioneer: Durand de Bousingen. After crossing relaxation in psychiatry and psychomotricity histories, the different methods and their effects are defined. The second chapter focuses on the prescription of relaxation therapy in adult psychiatric services. It describes the issues in terms body-oriented psychotherapy in psychiatry, and the goals every health care professions have. This part demonstrates the difference of practices according to the prescriptions. This reveals the essence of transdiciplinarity work. The third chapter is about relaxation in psychomotricity therapy, with two starting points : the use of therapeutic mediation in psychomotricity and the study of the muscle tone. These wo fields lead to the body schema and image, the bond with time and space, and alertness levels and attentional abilities. Finally a fourth chapter illustrates this subject with two case studies, of patients in Medico-psychologic centers and psychiatric hospital services.
