L’avènement du selfie : une co-construction d’acteurs sociaux et d’usagers des réseaux sociaux en ligne. Analyse des discours portés par les médias, les productions culturelles et les usagers de Flickr

Abstract : These past few years, we attended the rise of a neologism: the selfie. This word has been sanctified when it entered The Oxford Dictionaries. According to the English defition, a selfie is characterised as a “connected” photografical self-portraiture, related to new communication technologies. This study aims at demonstrating that this kind of conceptual photography is a result of a mix of representations from different actors: the social actors on the one hand, and the social networks users on the other hand. However, this co-construction doesn’t seem as obvious or created with connivance as it is. This study is meant to present in what ways the speeches about the selfie are the same as the ones about new communication technologies, which announce a social break. This study also argues that the selfie practife responds to the photografical self-portraiture pratice and its share, as it has been existing since the beginning of the photography.
