Influence de paramètres climatiques et de la photopériode sur la biologie de Neofabraea alba, agent responsable de symptômes de gloeosporiose sur pommiers

Abstract : The biology of the fungus Neofabraea alba is not very well known and that is why the impact of climatic parameters and photoperiod on different stages of the life cycle of the fungus were studied. Trees were covered with a rain protection in order to study the period of infection of N. alba in the orchard. Artificial cankers on apple branches were also monitored to follow the sporulation of the fungus. Some in vitro trials were conducted as well to assess the temperature and photoperiod requirements of N. alba. One of the main result is that the rain is necessary for N. alba to contaminate apples. However the rate of infected apples is not directly linked to the rainfall. Concerning the sporulation, two main periods have been spotted: spring and winter. Maximum mycelia growth is between 10-25°C and the mycelium development stops at 35°C. At 0°C, the growth is slowed down but still efficient. The pycnid development is light-dependant. Further experiments need to be done to complete these results, especially to define a more precise temperature range for each stage of the fungal development. Besides, the latency period before the emergence of the symptoms has to be investigated.
