Intérêt de la création d’un outil de rééducation des paralysies faciales périphériques idiopathiques format DVD

Abstract : The effectiveness of Bell's Palsy rehabilitation programs depend both on the therapists' strategies and the patients' involvement. This study was about designing a DVD as a complement to standard therapy, which would meet patients' and therapists' expectations with the aim of dealing with the lack of specific and comprehensive rehabilitation tools. First, 391 therapists and 81 patients answered questionnaires about their expectations and needs. This data helped us design a DVD which was provided to ten therapists and ten patients. A survey was then conducted in order to assess its relevance as a rehabilitation tool. The study reveals that the DVD is well-appreciated for the information it delivers as well as for its pedagogic content. Furthermore, it seems to encourage therapists to treat patients with Bell's palsy and to motivate patients by involving them in the rehabilitation process. Findings are clearly revealing that this DVD is a promising and relevant tool that may improve the treatment of Bell's palsy.
