Outils et interfaces pour l'évaluation de la Fluence

Abstract : Stuttering concerns about 1% of the worldwide adult population, but is a lot more common amongst children. About 8% of children seem to be facing stuttering at the age of 3 to 5 years old. 80% of them will recover with or without the help of a speech therapist. The Lidcombe Program is a method of treatment used for preschoolers which requires parents to evaluate their child’s stuttering on a daily basis. The elaboration of a website thanks to which it will be possible to collect the severity rating scale of several children and a corpus of videos taken during treatment will enable to evaluate the reliability of this subjective score by linking it to objective indicators (percentage of stuttered syllables and speech rate). This corpus will also be used to deal in depth with the results found concerning coarticulation and vowel centralization in children during the elaboration of a scientific poster, and compare them to the results found for adults by Marine Verdurand-Pendeliau in her thesis.
