Respecting patients' lights is a critical part of our practice as it is a legal duty for the professional, nevertheless how do we ensure patients decency or Intimacy is also considered? In order to gather data about the subject, we conducted a qualitative survey bv Grounded Theory. We targeted women Who gave birth at least once, regardless of the delivery method. These women were ln post-partum departments ln varrous maternifies of Marseille and Sète, as well as respondents to ad-posters placed in liberal midwives' offices. The results revealed that decency is a complex subject and evolve during the day of delivery. If the physical reserve tend to decrease temporarily, the emotional decency is very much present With a difficulty in suffenng in front of others. Indeed this indecency is increased by physical changes, pain of the uterine contractions, psychological mechanisms of childbirth, altogether With the conclusion of the birth. The role of medical team is critical. It allows these women to feel reassured and at ease while living moments that can be embarrassmg ln Other circumstances. Hence, women experience an evolution of their decency which decreases when it comes to physical modesty but increases when it comes to their emotional decency.
