Femme et lesbienne : quels enjeux ? Vers une pratique inclusive en consultation gynécologique

Abstract : Methods: eight semi-directives interviews of ob/gyn doctors were led during a four months period in Paris. Four women and four men identified, age between 37-63, were randomly recruited through a doctor web-based search engine. All the interviews were audiotaped, and transcribed. Qualitative analysis was conducted. Results: all the ob/gyn interviewed had an heteronormative approach with their patients including heterosexual assumptions, non-inclusive communication and heterosexist conduct. They all offered different ways around birth control, STDs, pap smear and safe.r sex matter recognizing the fact that none of them had any formation in this area. Conclusion: Lesbian do not receive proper medical care, because they are not always identify as such, and when they are the changes that are done are not appropriate. This statement suggest that medical research and formation should get improved and guidelines should be create so that medical care could be fare and equally available.
