Apports de la distraction par Réalité Virtuelle au cabinet dentaire

Abstract : Anxiety and pain of patients can be supported in the dental office by distraction techniques. Used since ten years virtual reality (VR) distracts the patient by immersion in an interactive audiovisual programme. First, a VR device applied to the dental chair will be described. Then the effectiveness of a distraction by VR in the treatment of anxiety and pain in the dental office will be reviewed. Finally, it will be compared to the other distractions techniques and nitrous oxide sedation, to assess the interest of its use in dental care.
