Vers un espace industriel territorialisé. Comment faire cohabiter industrie et territoire?

Abstract : In search of economic development and the creation of jobs, France is undergoing a process of reindustrialisation. However, this industrial development must be questioned. While unavoidable for economic development, industry is also a source of pollution. A paradoxical relationship between industry and territory therefore exists, between proximity and rejection. Industry is still seen as a ‘necessary evil’. It is therefore essential to ask how the two, industry and territory, can exist in harmony with one another? How can we resolve the ongoing tension between the two entities? This question is fundamental for sustainable development and invites us to study the past to better understand the process of industrialisation and then the confinement. Secondly, this work aims to address the overall problem by using a case study of the port and industrial zone of Salaise Sablons, INSPIRA. This innovative example shows how the territoriality of industrial space forms a new model of development, bringing industry and land closer together. The territorialised industrial space is emerging as a response to the invention of the twentieth century industry.
