Première évaluation de l’offre et la demande alimentaires à Belle-Île-en-Mer : "On pourrait vendre ça là !"

Abstract : The objective of this study is to evaluate the potential of relocation for the food system of Belle-Île-en-Mer. The hypothesis is that the agriculture of Belle-Île-en-Mer is not adapted to local food demand. The methodology followed aims for characterizing supply and demand quantitatively and qualitatively. The results show a lack of balance between current food supply and demand in Belle-Île-en-Mer. There is a lack of some local products in the island because these products are not or little produced, transformed, and/or sold in the island. Several strategies can be set up to relocate the food system of Belle-Île-en-Mer: to develop the supply in quantity for some products, to create a dairy local industry, to better manage seasonal gaps between supply and demand, to adapt local food supply forms to demand and to supply collective catering.
