La prise en charge de l'odontalgie atypique par le chirurgien dentiste : revue systématique de la littérature

Abstract : Objective: Doing a clinical guide for the atypical odontalgia’s management with the actual literature. Material and methods: Systematic review of the literature on the atypical odontalgia’s management by the dentist. Results: Diagnosis is usually a diagnosis of exclusion; however the quantitative sensorial test seems to be a precious help. The psychic part of the appearance and of the maintenance of this algia often implies a psychological nursing added to the medication. This study highlights the significant efficacy of selective serotonin and norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors antidepressants, and the incomplete efficacy of local therapeutics. Nevertheless, a global review of all systemic medications for the atypical odontalgia would be necessary to come to more general conclusions
