Intérêt des gouttières d'éducation fonctionnelle dans la correction des classes II au moment de l'évolution de la première molaire permanente

Abstract : Introduction: Functions may affect the orofacial region but may also be reeducated in order to restore an harmonious development , if dysfunctions were noticed. Since a few years, trays for orthodontic functional education have been increasing to response to a growing demand and models have even been created for younger children. Aims: The aim of this study is to prove that an early use of trainer appliances can reduce class II dysmorphoses. Methods: We interrogated the data bases PubMed, Babord and Google Scholar using the key words combination, from december 2014 to february 2015. Results: 11 articles were found, showing a improvement concerning functions and a diminution of ANB angle, but little skeletal effects. Conclusion: Too few studies concerning temporary teeth keep us from concluding about skeletal effects by trainer appliances on class II. Authors can’t agree on the importance of early treatment.
