Vécu des parents lors des deux premiers rendez-vous échographiques dans le cadre d'une grossesse physiologique

Abstract : France is the european country that performs the most obstetric ultrasounds. According to a perinatal investigation in 2010, a pregnant woman receives five ultrasounds during the course of her pregnancy. This is a special test that allows a couple to see their pre-boni child long before the birth and of which raises many questions. The aim of this report is to understand how couples and especially pregnant women, experience this special moment of which is so engrained in our society and to answer our research question ; How does the practice of ultrasounds influence the experience of parents undergoing these scans in the first and second trimester of pregnancy? To answer this question we conducted twelve casual interviews with pregnant women in two areas in the department of Seine-Maritime. Only women pregnant with their first child and having healthy pregnancies were included in this study. Analysis of the results showed that patients were reassured when meeting a medical professional. Ultrasound scans evoked many emotions in future parents. The scans reassured them, sometimes worried them but especially the different parent representations. Parents tended to imagine the preborn child to be a bigger size, Gloser to that of a baby at full term. Ultrasound scans not being that the parents represented themselves, it is important that the sonographer, explains them what they see in the screen and what he is doing.
