La compréhension fine d’un texte est-elle accessible à des élèves de moyenne section de maternelle ?

Abstract : Language comprehension using stories is part of the nursery school program. In order for pupils to understand the story, the teacher has to choose it carefully based on their age. This report aims to study the ability for 4 to 5 years old pupils to understand a story after hearing it several times in several forms (read or told with puppets), and this without attending comprehension sessions. To achieve this, the story of Goldilocks was told or read every day during a five-week period (part-time teacher). Then pupils were asked to tell the story using puppets. The results showed that many of them had reached a reasonable level of comprehension, but not all of them. Despite the careful selection of stories presented to pupils, it is still necessary to perform specific sessions so that everyone has access to its detailed comprehension.
