Caractérisation moléculaire de 188 souches de Staphylococcus aureus responsables de bactériémies au CHU de Grenoble sur l’année 2013

Abstract : Bacteraemia due to Staphylococcus aureus mean severe infection, which are sometimes responsible for patient death. ln 2013, we noted an increase of this infection in the French teaching hospital of Grenoble compared to 2012 (+29%); this observation was confirmed in 2014. This work aimed to study population concerned by infection in 2013 and to genotype corresponding S. aureus strains in order to identify hast risk factor and/or a virulent clone and then elaborate adequately program to contrai the infection. Clinical data did not indicate any new risk factor. One hundred eighty-eight S. aureus isolates (179 MSSA and 9 MRSA) on 199 corresponding bacteraemia were characterised with spa typing method. Among 108 spa types, t571, t002, t008 and t084 were the most prevalent. No major clone was identified. Thus, we demonstrated that there is no new host risk factor and no emergent clone in the French teaching hospital of Grenoble in 2013. On the microbiologie side, it would be interesting to further characterise our strains to determine their toxinic profile and other virulence factors.
