Syndrome métabolique et compléments alimentaires

Abstract : Metabolic syndrome is characterized by dysglycemia, arterial hypertension, atherogenic dyslipidemia and central obesity. Its presence has been associated with increased risk for the development of diabetes mellitus and cardiovascular disease. The main treatment includes diet, exercise, weight loss, control of blood glucose and pharmacological therapy of hypertension and dyslipidemia. A new therapeutic approach is to supplement with vitamins and minerals patients with metabolic syndrome because they are deficient in micronutrients due to inadequate dietary intake. So, antioxidants such as vitamin A, vitamin C, vitamin E, magnesium, alpha-lipoic acid, coenzyme Q10 or other micronutrients such as vitamin B, vitamin D, calcium, chrome, omega 3 and polyphenols have been shown to be highly effective for preventing and treating metabolic syndrome.
