Le règlement de PLU : un outil au service de la qualité ?

Abstract : As in a lot of place in France, there is an intense development of suburban housing in Ardèche. This process of urbanization has to face a lot of criticism, resulting an important number of new urbanization legislation. Laws were designed to limit urban sprawl and bring out a high quality architecture and urban planning. One of the tools put in place by the 2000 "SRU" law is the Urban Local Plan. 15 years later, in a context of budget cuts, the urban sprawl is a well-known and active phenomenon. Under these conditions, one might wonder what the impact of this tool on our country is. Urban forms and architectural typologies analysis produced by PLU regulations in urban areas in Ardèche show that this tool is not enough to provide a high quality urban plan.
