Pathologies gynécologiques mineures dans le sport de haut niveau

Abstract : As women’s sports are booming, we are trying to determine whether the gynaecological life of high-performance sportswomen is different or not from the overall population. Sportswomen are more sensitive to the disruption of menstrual cycles, particularly in primary and secondary amenorrhea, the frequency of which increases with the type of sports, and the amount of weekly practice. Furthermore, the reasons for the use of contraceptives differ from those of the overall population. These disruptions as well as their contraception management have a significant effect on women’s health and on their sports practices. This is the reason why it is essential to perform a specialised gynaecological follow-up for these sportswomen.
