Abstract : Wetlands exploted by the agriculture provide to all the society many environmental benefits. The area of wetland is continuously decresing even if an international and national will attempt to protect and to define it. The agriculture used to exploite these ecosystems, are slowly abandon them up. For the last 30 years, approximately two third’s of the area of wetland in France have been destroyed. Stringent regulations, the lack of sufficient financial insentives and the low labour productivity in this kind of land contribute to make theses lands difficult to exploted. This is not an immediat phenomenon, abandon of wetland generally occurs when farms are reorganized when there is a change of landowner for example. This kind of abandon would go on if the number of agricultural workers continues to decrease. Today half of the wetland aera in 168 cities in the Finistère part of Bretany is abandoned. An econometric study showed that agricultural milk activity protect wetlands from being abandoned. On the contrary urbanisation which fragment slowly agricultural area in the region of Finistère, Landless production and increasing labour productivity are fostering this abandon of wetlands.
