Effet de la balance cations-anions de l'aliment allaitante sur le déroulement de la mise bas et la lactation chez la truie

Abstract : Stillbirth concerns about 2,5 million piglets each year in France. There are many risk factors: genetic, maternal, environmental and piglet factors. Moreover, a long duration of farrowing can increase the number of stillborn piglets. A long duration of farrowing can be due to a hypocalcemia. In fact, calcium is essential for myometrial contraction and in another species, hypocalcemia can reduce uterine activity. Lowering DCAD of the diet before farrowing has been associated with a metabolic acidosis. Blood pH is compensated in part by bone accepting hydrogen ion in exchange for Ca and Ca excreted in urine may be retained in response to acidosis. A premix, composed of anionic salts and organic acid, was tested in two farms (A and B). In our study, the dietary treatments were with DCAD of 50 mEq/kg and 115 mEq/kg (control group) in the farm A and 48 mEq/kg and 101 mEq/kg (control group) in the farm B. In the farm A, the stillbirth was reduced with the low DCAD diet (P-value<0,05) but was not significate in the farm B (P-value=0,49). The duration of farrowing was similar among dietary treatments. The individual weight of piglet was lower in the low DCAD diet. In the farm A, the pH of the urine after farrowing is lower in sows fed the low DCAD diet but there is not significate difference in the farm B. There is no difference about the patability of the diets in the two farms.
