Intérêt d'un accompagnement orthophonique des conjoints de patients cérébro-lésés dans l'amélioration des comportements de surprotection

Abstract : Stroke is a frequent pathology which has grave consequences on the patient. It also pulls a major upheaval on the family. The patient and the spouse have to find a balance by taking into account new roles of each. So it’s not rare to notice badly adapted behavior, such as overprotection. This last one can limit the generalization of the experiences seen in sessions and damage in an important way the patient’s rehabilitation. We proposed a support to six spouses in the form of information and of advices to reduce overprotection’s behavior. Considering the outcomes, the support sometimes allows to reduce the feeling to be overprotected, he can also allow to improve the life’s satisfaction and\or the mood of the patient. The spouses, for their part, said themselves very satisfied by this intervention. This last one allowed them to feel less isolated and more sustained. So it’s necessary that the speech therapy go in for more taking care of the spouses.
