L’enseignement de la danse à l’école élémentaire

Abstract : This research addresses the teaching of danse in primary education, and more precisely, the obstacles that stands in the way. This take into consideration the research from Nelly Lacince done in 1998, where she was demonstrating the barriers encountered by teachers of PE in secondary education. Within this new study, the possible difficulties have been highlighted thanks to a questionnaires handed over to teachers. The goal to achieve was to show the barriers towards teaching dancing based on two hypothesis: the emotional and sensitive dimension of such activity and the lack of training provided to teachers. The outcome of this research shows that barriers remain. These could explain the reason why dance is barely or not at all taught at school. As highlighted by Nelly Lacince research, these two hypothesis remain the prominent obstacles.
