Infections cutanées à Staphylocoque doré producteur de leucocidine de Panton Valentine : évaluation des pratiques professionnelles et de l’état des connaissances des médecins généralistes à Paris

Abstract : In France in 2009, among dermatological problems seen in physician’s office 10% concerned skin infections. In 2005, the US epidemic of skin infections responsible Staphylococcus aureus producer Panton Valentine leukocidin resulted in more deaths as hepatitis, HIV and tuberculosis combined. The objective of this study is to evaluate the knowledge of general practitioners in Paris on this bacteria and their professional practices in the management of infectious skin lesions. A descriptive cross-sectional study with qualitative predominance of the type of practice audit was conducted between October 2014 and April 2015 among general practitioners in Paris. Physicians were drawn at random from the Yellow Pages using the quota by borough. Then the doctors were contacted by telephone to obtain their email and send them the questionnaire link. 146 physicians were included in the study with an attendance rate of 29% or 42 respondents doctors. The population is representative in terms of sex and age compared to the general population. 12% of them (N=5) knew the producer staph Panton Valentine leukocidin. It was not found significant resurgence of infectious skin lesions type town with only14% of respondents under an increased number of lesions (N=6). Support skin infections varies depending generalists with a local disinfection of lesions very widespread in 95% of physicians surveyed (N = 40) and a use of antibiotics or local or general for 75 % of them (N = 32). The study demonstrates little knowledge of community staphylococcus producer Panton Valentine leukocidin as well as large disparities in the treatment of infectious skin lesions.
