L'inclusion individuelle des enfants porteurs de troubles importants des fonctions cognitives en maternelle

Abstract : This introductory report deals with the issue of individual inclusion in nursery schools and focuses on children with severe cognitive disorders. The law of 2005 and the law on school defend the principle of inclusion. This principle appears as a revolution in the texts but what about in practice ? According to Christine Philip, France is still dealing with integration only. The teachers aren't trained to deal with this type of children but « have to take into account the diversity of the pupils » and notably their handicap. That's why we may wonder what they could do to achieve their goals. How can a teacher include individually a child with severe cognitive disorders in a nursery school ? With an inquiry and observations in class, we can notice that there are various ways in order to socialize these children and enable them to learn. The teacher can turn to official means such as the ESS, the PPS, the AESH but to unofficial means as well. Indeed, the teacher can ask the parents to come in the class, or can differentiate, individualize or use special methods such as the Makaton. Some of these methods depend on him only whereas others depend on his hierarchy. A continuing education would allow to harmonize these practices.
