Aménager et vivre avec le risque en zone littorale : le cas du Finistère Nord

Abstract : The French metropolitan coastline is an attractive territory on which the urbanization keeps on increasing. The 2010 Thunderstorm Xynthia, which has affected the all part of the Atlantic coastline, is etched into the memory, as well by the human damage as by the material one. Further to this exceptional natural disaster, the seaboard management risk has become a problem to deal with in France. The State has accelerated the set-up of Prevention Plans for the Natural and Foreseeable Disasters and has reviewed its management policy. In this rapidly changing environment, our work seeks to take stock of existing regulatory mapping tools, (« Prevention Plans for the Marine Submersion Disasters ») or emerging (« Prevention Plans for the Seaboard Risks ») and to question the effects on the territories they cover.
