Danser, jouer, chanter… pour une meilleure expression orale

Abstract : Students having cognitive disorders face significant problems regarding all the aspects of oral expression. However, mastering it is an essential component in our society. But oral skill is still often neglected. It seems that French class would be the perfect fit for such an education, but it should not be the only one. Indeed, oral skill involves voice and body as much as listening skill, which means skills not only related to mastering language, but also physical and communication skills. Consequently, this education is not only restricted to French class, but can extend to all disciplines including artistic ones. In this context, along with a group of ULIS students (Local unity for school mainstreaming) suffering from cognitive disorders, we undertook a multidisciplinary project. It gathers three artistic disciplines with great concern for oral expression: dance, drama and music education. This project helped focusing on all the essential tools needed for oral expression: voice, body and listening, and their application as a mean of expression feelings and emotions.
