Hypnopraxie en Médecine Générale : une approche affective. Étude qualitative explorant le cheminement thérapeutique de 33 patients, à travers 99 séances réalisées durant le SASPAS, à la Réunion

Abstract : Introduction: Hypnopraxia is a hypnotherapeutic approach based on phenomenology, it is said to be affective, structural and integrative. Purpose of the study: We sought to explore patients' therapeutic lines of progress, by identifying the underlying processes, through Hypnopraxia. Method: We conducted 99 sessions in 33 adult consenting patients who had come to see the general practitioner. Following a qualitative approach, data was collected with semi-structured interviews which were continued until saturation was obtained (n = 19), the results were submitted to inductive thematic analysis of content. A synthetic model was progressively developed. Results: Once the patient has returned to his sensitive intimacy through structural mobilization, involuntary emotional reorganization occurred and manifested itself through unconscious body language; the patient being in an altered state of affect. This reorganization led to integration between what the patient feels and conceives, and between his way of being and his environment, resulting in changes in his praxis, that is to say in the way he has of seizing hold of himself, of his relationships with others, of his experiences of life situations and of his attitude towards the world. The therapeutic line of progress is a maturation of what is felt within Oneself, in connection with the therapist. Discussion: The novelty of this work is mainly to be found in the complexity of the studied phenomenon. Carrying out the work directly with patients and data saturation give it a better validity. However, its main limitation is the subjective nature of the analysis with a lack of triangulation, thus reducing the generalization of results. Conclusion: This work proposes to give again attention to the affective dimension of patients and affirms the position of General Practice in its global and humanist approach. Further work could be conducted to explore more specifically one of the identified processes, or to compare them with other.
