Master Thesis

Fusion de systèmes SAP et intégration financière

Abstract : Information system technology, which provides support for a company’s business processes, is constantly evolving: large-scale systems, client-servers, web services and cloud computing are just a few examples. Since the mid-1990s, the need to control the inflation of applications and maintenance costs has led software packages to become the cornerstone of information strategy for large businesses and organizations. Since then, several software companies have stepped into the breach and cornered the market, notably Oracle and SAP. The BOBST company opted for an SAP-based information system and, with this in mind, aimed to migrate all of its entities to the same system. The purpose of this thesis is to trace the philosophy of software packages and SAP in particular; it will also describe the technical merge program for two SAP systems within BOBST’s BU Sheet-fed and the integration of its financial component, as well as the steps that had to be taken to make this undertaking possible. Finally, it will review the various SAP services involved in the different steps of the program.
